GIBNEY COMPANY
My role entails creating potential partnerships and exchange projects between Gibney and Nordic dance companies and dance artists, relevant to either Gibney Company, Gibney Community and/or smaller dance works suitable for the Gibney studio theatre. At present, a partnership between Gibney Company and winter guests | Alan Lucien Øyen is established; including a dance exchange and co-production, premiering in 2023. An expert visit by Gina Gibney to Norway and Finland is currently being coordinated for February 2022.
Gibney Company, led by Artistic Director Gina Gibney and Directors Amy Miller and Nigel Campbell, is Gibney’s acclaimed resident dance ensemble. Gibney Company members are full-time Artistic Associates who contribute not only as impeccable performing artists but also as activists and cultural entrepreneurs.
With an unrelenting focus on artistic excellence and social integrity, Gibney Company co-creates an environment where dancers are activated towards their full artistic, entrepreneurial, and socially minded selves through rigorous physical, intellectual, and interpersonal practices. In addition to creation and performance, the Artistic Associates are highly engaged in the organization’s Community programs and are cultivated as entrepreneurs and leaders in the field.
